Pa'ani is an ocean view Makai Golf Course vacation condo in Princeville. Located on the golf course with views of the #3 putting green and #4 tee box, this ocean-view condo rental offers great views of the golf course & Pacific with easy access to the many local beaches. It is also close to a small quiet community swimming pool to take a dip in and cool off after a hard day on the course or the beach. This 2 bedroom 2 bath condo with a loft has a standard occupancy of 4. (Listed rate is for the standard occupancy of 4, but home can accommodate up to 5. Extra guest fee beyond four is $20/night + tax per person. This fee is collected after booking. No more than 1 extra guest is allowed.) It can sleep up to 5.
This vacation rental is in a great location to enjoy all that Kauai's North Shore and Princeville have to offer. Take a short trail down to 'Anini Beach. Hop in the car and be out on the main road within minutes where over 20 beautiful beaches are within 25 minutes. Hanalei Bay, Hanalei Beach, Hanalei River and the tiny Hanalei town of restaurants, boutiques and water sports is about 7 minutes away. Princeville's many long walking paths with gorgeous mountain views are waiting for you as well.
This is a 2 story corner-unit ocean-view condo with windows on three walls to let in light and the ocean breezes. Pa'ani has a very open feel and a very well equipped kitchen for making gourmet meals from the fresh island produce and fish from our farmer's markets and fish markets. You'll enjoy the gas grill on the deck while watching sunset skies.
Pa'ani is the Hawaiian word for play sport or a game, so appropriate for this ocean view condo in Princeville. Whether you are a golfer or not, you will love the openness that being on the golf course provides. In your backyard there is a gorgeous old Hawaiian Banyan tree between your condo and the golf fairway. Enjoy the play of light on its roots and branches while at the dining table or out on the deck.
All bed linens, bath towels, coolers, beach towels and beach chairs for the beach are provided. Wireless internet too.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom has a king size bed, TV and ample closet space. There is a small lanai off the bedroom that faces East for trade wind ventilation. You can see a slice of the ocean over the trees. You can also see the trail to the Puamana community swimming pool. A key to the pool will be found inside Pa'ani.
Master Bathroom
There is a relaxing jetted tub in the master bath. His and her sinks give lots of room for you both. A tile stall shower rounds out the bathroom.
Downstairs Bedroom
The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed, its own lanai, and a very nice bathroom with two sinks. For this reason, Pa'ani is a great home for two couples to share. There is a TV in this bedroom as well so it would be great for the kids.
Loft
The loft with its twin size convertible couch is another sleeping option. It is off the master bedroom.
'Anini Trail
Venture down the forested trail to 'Anini Beach, with fantastic water for snorkeling and swimming. A leisurely stroll will take about 15 minutes to the beach, and 20 minutes back. Be extra careful when the trail is wet because it does get slippery and your shoes will get muddy. At the top of the trail you will enjoy views of the golf course with 'Anini Reef to your left and to your right, you will see Namolokama & Hihimanu Mountains of the Hanalei range.
Parking:
You park at the end of the third Puamana parking lot, with a numbered stall very close to the unit. A second car would park in the guest parking area. This third lot is located just prior to the entrance into the Westin Resort. The Westin has a very nice restaurant and spa a super short walk from Pa'ani.
Nearby Activities:
Restaurants, Shopping, Hiking, Golf, Tennis, Surfing, Boating, Kayaking, Biking, Walking trails, Zip lining, Horseback riding & Botanical gardens.

"We have visited Kauai multiple times & have almost always stayed in Princeville. The unit was very clean & well-kept with just about anything you can think of. Great Webber gas grill on the lanai, a large outdoor storage closet with cooler, beach equipment, etc. The house had everything we needed including sunscreen, shampoo, soaps, etc. The kitchen was well equipped & appliances were in excellent condition. Suzanne & Kira were awesome to correspond with & were very prompt in answering questions, etc. Everything exceeded our expectations. (Except the wet, windy weather, which was beyond anyone’s control, but was great for The Eddie to go this year on Oahu!).

"Our arrival at Pa'ani got off to a rough start, however, the issue was quickly resolved the next day and our stay was not negatively impacted. Kira was always quick to reply to any questions or concerns we had and was always very responsive. Pa'ani offered us everything we needed in a rental and the extras from the boogie boards, beach umbrella, beach chairs, and cooler were great. The ocean view in the evening is beautiful and the mountain view from the lanai doesn't get old. We enjoyed our stay in Kauai and hope to return one day.

Fantastic access to Hanalei Bay and other north shore beaches with a trail down to Anini. Great communication throughout, easy self check-in, lots of fantastic little extras (laundry detergent, linen bags, beach towels, sunscreen, local treats, etc.). Fully stocked kitchen for days when we wanted to eat in. Gorgeous water views from the back lanai and north-facing windows. We were plenty cool with the ceiling fans and standing fans. "Before booking this reservation; I sent a message, inquiring about a multi day discount. I was told "The 7 day discount will be reflected in the booking total" However, the discount was never applied. After booking the reservation; I was asked to sign a rental agreement (which I was told that the agreement is "required by the state of Hawaii" I have used Expedia to rent multiple units in Kauai and do not recall this being the case. AirBnB's policy is, if the 'add' does not mention a rental agreement, you can cancel the reservations w/o any charges (I wasn't willing to take the chance) Within the rental agreement that you are signing, you have to agree that you are going to follow all rules in a book that is in the unit (which they do not have an electronic copy of; to preview before signing) These things made for unnecessary worries during my vacation. After Checking in; I listed many discrepancies with the unit (which I communicated both through voicemail/voice/text): 1 - missing smoke detector 2 - handles to open 4 of the louvered windows were broken 3 - light in the dinning room would not turn on 4 - fan in the master bedroom would not turn on 5 - TV remote was not working 6 - the HDMI ports on the living room TV were problematic 7 - one of the lights in the kitchen would not turn on 8 - the toilet paper handle in the bathroom was loose (may not be long before it falls off the wall) 9 - Shower Towel Bars in both bathrooms were loose I was asked if they could address these issues even if we were not present (which I agreed to in text). I never heard anything from the owner after that.

"This condo was tucked back by the golf course and was absolutely beautiful. My family and I were traveling to Kauai for the first time. We came with our three teens (14, 16, and 17). The condo was spacious and really updated. It has some nice touches like beach towels and sunscreen, along with good information about local grocery stores and some local etiquette. This place has a washer and dryer, as well as a dishwasher- which was wonderful for our large family. Additionally, the fridge had condiments which was helpful in cooking some of our own meals. There is no air conditioner, but this was not a problem with all of the windows that could be opened to let in the air. We slept very comfortably. I would prepare people that Kauai (as well as some of the other islands) have a wild chicken issue. If you are a sensitive sleeper- you may want to bring ear plugs. This was not specific to this property, but something to know overall.

It was so nice to have beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, sand toys and chairs all available to use. The condo is spacious and worked perfect for our family of 6. The pool is just steps from the front door which I didn't realize when booking. You can also catch the beautiful sunset every evening with a short walk. Our recommendation would be to make a Costco run before check-in as Foodland is one of the more expensive grocery stores. The condo was perfect and we will be back for sure.

"Inside was relatively modern compared to many worn out or old looking condos that you see in Hawaii. Many extras thrown in such a bug spray, sun tanning lotions, beach towels, etc. Electric stove didn’t work that well with only one unit reliably heating. No air-conditioning, it was not a problem when we were there as it was not that hot. There was a beach in walking distance however the trail was very steep. Would not recommend for elderly, those with mobility issues or little kids. Very limited choice of restaurants/bars or shopping in the area if that’s important to you.

The kitchen is well appointed and there are laundry as well as bath supplies. There are beach towels for use in the condo and beach chairs and other beach items in the closet on the lanai. "My husband and I agreed that our trip to Kauai and our stay in Pa'ani was the best vacation we've ever taken -- which is saying a lot considering that we are very well traveled ourselves and were a bit wary of what it would be like to vacation with our infant daughter, who also loved everything about this trip! The unit was well described and depicted on the vrbo website, but we were even more impressed in person. It felt so open and airy with the lofted ceilings and tall windows. Every inch of the place was spotless, with nice cool marble floors downstairs and gorgeous wood upstairs. We used the loft space for our daughter's pack 'n play (which we rented from Ready Rentals per the recommendations of Suzanne), and we took the spacious master, leaving the first floor guest room as my hide-out for folding laundry and/or pumping milk while my daughter was asleep upstairs. We used the gas grill every night to cook fresh fish, and stocked the huge fridge with everything we would need so that we didn't feel like we had to go out to dinner - something our 4 month-old is not a fan of doing! That said, we felt close to everything we needed, and stopped by the shops in Princeville to fuel our mango addiction at the grocery there. The binder left in the unit is so helpful - we used that to guide our walks to Anini beach and to find a church on Sunday. My husband was worried that we would feel like there were people on top of us being on a golf course, but we rarely saw anyone playing out there, and we felt privileged to have the best view of all the surrounding units since this one gets the ocean view from the side and the view of a beautiful banyan tree out back. The unit has all the supplies anyone would ever need, so getting to the beach with an infant, a cooler, chairs, and towels was actually totally stress-free with the wheeled cart we found in the closet of the first floor bedroom. The kitchen was more well supplied than my kitchen at home (we left talking about how we are amazed we've survived 7 years of marriage without a salad spinner...). As I'm sure is obvious, we want to come back to this spot regularly if possible and only fear we have harmed our chances by giving such a good review! Suzanne and Terri are also wonderful and very responsive to any questions that arose prior to and/or during the trip. I can't wait to get in touch with them again to set up our next stay!

A Great family experience!! We had the best vacation ever.
Vacation Date: July 1, 2013
"What a great family vacation in a perfect location. We have been visiting Kauai for tha past 40 year and even owned a Condo on Princeville, and I would rate tthis stay the best. The location is perfect and centrally located between the great hanalei beaches, town, and all the other great thing on this side of the island. We'll definitely use any of the Kobyashi Beach Housed again. Mahalo and Aloha.

Wonderful vacation!
Vacation Date: June 28, 2013
"Pros: Location!! Great remodeled kitchen had everything a cook could want, beyond fully loaded! Comfortable beds Nice, remodeled bathrooms Ocean, mountain and golf course views Cons: Sleeper futon in loft was a bit small (full/double, not a queen) for my 2 young sons to sleep on (7 and 9 yrs) Some of the screens were bent and would let in a mosquito or two, not a big deal as there are many windows to open to get the trade winds The curtain rod in the master falls to the floor with barely a touch The towel rod in the downstairs bath falls off easily, too (didn't know until I saw bruises on my mom's foot) Favorite things: Hanalei Bay Path to Anini Beach North Shore Hiking Na Pali Coast Bike/walking path in Kapa'a (we suggest renting bikes and riding along the coast) The con's are so petty, it's still a 5 star review. This was our 3rd trip to Kauai and we prefer the North Shore for its quaintness (Hanalei) and less tourists (Poipu). The location is fantastic. It was so great to walk to Anini Beach without having to pack a lunch or much of anything. Shopping and eats are just a short drive or leisurely stroll away. Beautiful views are endless: from the lani overlooking the golf course & ocean, mountain views if you turn the other direction and from the top of the path looking down to Anini. The pool is small, but our kids didn't care. They had a great time splashing around. We hope to return to Kauai soon and this condo will top our list to rent again! Thank you so much!!

Beautiful!
Vacation Date: June 11, 2013
"I had never been to Hawaii nor used VRBO and decided to do both with 2 friends. We were a bit skeptical as we began looking through all our choices...this location seems too good to be true. We even called Suzanne and Teri to make sure it was all that was written. Well, it was! We had an amazing time and the condo was great! Big and open and airy! The winds blew through the doors and windows at night and made the sleeping possible. It was clean and well furnished. It supplied everything that we needed. The location was fantastic! Sunset over the golf course and the short walk down to Anini Beach! We even walked to Queen's Bath. It is close to Hanalei which made our excursions easy as well. The Westin, next door provided Starbuck's coffee in the morning when we chose not to brew our own. All in all, our stay at Pa'ani was fantastic. The only downfall was the pool at the complex itself, but with the beautiful beaches in the area, we didn't care in the least! I would stay here again and recommend it to others! Thank you for the opportunity!

Excellent Value on the North Shore
Vacation Date: May 29, 2013
"We had a wonderful week at the Pa'Ani in Princeville! The listing information and pictures accurately reflect the beauty of this unit. The owner has obviously spent a lot of time and money upgrading his unit in this older and quiet condo community. The unit is very spacious, clean and has a nicely flowing floor plan. The lanai is extremely large. I spent every morning on the lanai drinking my coffee while I enjoyed the views and a variety of birds. The "Hawaiian A/C" and ceiling fans kept the unit cool. The location is great for accessing the gorgeous north shore beaches, hiking trails, groceries, small shops and good restaurants. The community pool is small, but adequate. Some of the window hardware, window screens and the front screen door lock need some TLC (tender, loving, care). I'm sure Alan will take care of those minor maintenance items (considering how lovingly he's already upgraded his "piece of paradise"). If you're looking for newer resort style lodging with a fancy pool, smaller accommodations and a larger price then this is not the place for you. If you want an excellent value on the North Shore that feels like home away from home then...look no further! We'll definitely be back! A couple from FL - ages 57 & 52

Peaceful, clean, modern, as advertised!
Vacation Date: July 5, 2012
"We spent a happy week at Pa'ani. The condo is spacious, in excellent condition, and convenient for all North Shore sights and beaches. Puamana is a quiet complex, and no golf is played near the house. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay in Princeville.

North Shore in November.
Vacation Date: November 9, 2010
"We enjoyed our stay. Nice views of the golf course and ocean on this end unit. Kitchen was fully equipped. The condo was comfortable and convenient to the pool. 5 min walk to the Westin and Starbucks. 15 min walk to Anini Beach. Hanalei is just down the road. There are lots of secluded small beaches in the area, hiking, horseback riding, etc. Princeville is quiet and laid back, just what we needed! We would stay here again.
