It was a nice quiet place to stay. This was our second year in a row staying here. We have been to Kauai many times. This was the first time in August and it was BUSY in Hanalei. It was nice to have a house close enough to walk to Ching Young plaza and dining. 08/20/2019 at 5:13 AM

We had a wonderful stay at the Hanalei. The house was the perfect size for our family of six (3 adults and 3 children). The kitchen is well stocked with any appliances you would need to make meals. The bathrooms all had ample towels and beach towels! There were also plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, and even a cooler! Getting to the beach was less than a five minute walk. You could also walk to a the restaurants and shops in Hanalei in about 15 minutes. Communication with the property manager was easy and they were very friendly, helpful, and responsive. Overall it felt like a home away from home! We will definitely return. 07/28/2019 at 11:48 PM

The Hanalei is a great place for a family to stay in Hanalei town. The home is large and well equipped with everything you will need. Only a two block walk to the beach, and about a ten minute walk to restaurants. 06/17/2019 at 7:15 AM

Amazing 7 day stay in North Shore Kauai

We had a great stay in Kauai, due in large part to the wonderful accommodations ๐Ÿ™‚ The rooms are modestly spacious, the bathrooms and kitchen have beautiful countertops and fixtures. The huge vaulted living room ceiling/stone floors/stone tiled wall almost made us feel like we were outside ๐Ÿ™‚ Very nice outdoor eating table and Weber bbq made for great night time meals, and the table is covered which made eating outdoor a great option in sun or rain. The bedrooms are air conditioned however the main living room and kitchen were not – two nice standing fans kept the air circulating and most of us found the ambient moving air comfortable. However a few of us needed to take air conditioned breaks in the bedrooms when it got very warm. I would love to be able to come back to this spot again!!! Oh! Also a very quick two block walk to the beach was perfect for the kids, the water in the bay is great for kids learning to swim as well as adult wanting to get an intro to surfing. 05/22/2019 at 9:36 PM

The duplex is massive. We stayed there with just two people, but it could easily hold 8 or more. Everything on the house was clean and nice. Washer and Dryer were great, extra beach chairs were nice, solid patio outback. It’s a great location near Pinetrees for people wanting to surf and a decent walk or very short drive into town. 03/21/2019 at 2:13 PM

We were a group of 3 couples. It fit us perfectly – we loved it! One room has two singles but the couple in that room just moved the beds together and we covered them with a king sheet from the master bedroom. It is well stocked with cooking items, super clean, nicely updated bathrooms, close to the beach, beds were comfortable, and the washer and dyer were great to have handy. The dogs mentioned in prior reviews: they were present only on the first day and barked until dark, and then they were gone. So much so that we wondered if they were removed from the property! Other dogs bark in the neighbor, and the chickens are always around, but the noisy dogs were non-existent after the first evening. It is well stocked with available snorkels, boogie boards, beach toys, beach chairs, a beach umbrella and beach towels too.The managers were quick to reply to our questions too. We highly recommend this house, and hope to return! Aloha! 01/23/2019 at 5:40 PM
Wonderful place for families to relax and enjoy Hanalei

We stayed here with our family including an infant and two small children. This location is 1.5hr from Poipu so that was a limitation on our travel around the island (since the children could only last so long in the car). However, we spent most of the time around the corner from the house on the beach of Hanalei Bay playing in the sand and waterโ€™s edge. The views from the home are breathtaking. It rained most of our trip but we enjoyed the multiplication of the waterfalls in the nearby mountains. The rain was heavy (the Hanalei Bridge closed due to water height) and yet we were still able to spend most of our time at the beach and walking around the small town. There is a store, many restaurants, a wonderful bakery, and equipment rentals within walking distance (and a gorgeous walk too). The rooms in the house each have their own bathroom which was so nice. The outdoor shower was so very useful to wash off from the beach. We cooked at home quite a bit and had everything we needed. 03/23/2018 at 8:19 PM

Enjoyed our stay in Hanalei, would highly recommend this townhouse and location. The place is a little dark and could use some sky lights but it is clean, comfortable and has all the extra things you need to make it perfect – kitchen utensils to body boards. 01/16/2018 at 2:04 AM

Having stayed on the property three years ago we wanted to come back; this time we tried The Hanalei. It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We loved Hanalei and the winter surf. The house is very close to the beach and a good distance for our morning walks. The walk into town was manageable and at times relaxing. 01/17/2017 at 8:23 PM

We are a paddling group from Canada that we’re here for the Na Pali Challenge. The ‘Hanalei’ had bedrooms and bathrooms for our whole group! The kitchen and huge open space was perfect for our needs. Close to the beach and walking distance to the art galleries, shops, restaurants and even the Mango Festival. We had an amazing stay! Mahalo! 08/21/2016 at 3:38 AM

The location of this property was excellent for our needs, the family could walk to the park/beach within a few minutes. The kitchen was fully loaded with the tools needed to prepare our meals with the exception of the microwave which should be upgraded/replaced. We also had problems with the washer and dryer, although the owner attempted to help us resolve the issues over the phone they did not send anyone to repair either. The entire family did suffer sleepless nights and very few naps for the children due to the barking dogs. We prayed for rain so the dogs would be taken inside. We contacted the owner and requested her to resolve the dog issues but not until the last of the 10 day stay did the dog owner bring the dogs inside so the kids could play outside. Since there is nothing but fans to cool the house we had to open the windows. The houses are very close together so there was no relief from the almost continual barking. It is a shame because we love to recommend this property but cannot. 06/02/2016 at 10:48 PM

Our friends stayed in this house on a previous visit in 2010 and we remembered it as a perfect house for two families to share. It was a great house with plenty of space for the 7 of us (2 couples, 3 boys 10, 12, 15). The house is very hot however as there really is no ventilation. We could have handled this a lot better if we were able to sit and enjoy the outdoor space. The back lanai is small and enclosed so not very appealing. The front yard has great views of the mountains and waterfalls but there are 8 (I counted at one point) small terrier type dogs that live next door. These dogs are not out all day but are out often and when they are they all bark at you constantly when you walk outside. It is very loud and not relaxing at all. We loved being able to walk to the beach (especially when the dogs were inside) and to the farmers market and once to town. Even though the house is on the main road we were never bothered by traffic noise. We would not stay at this house again on our next visit. We enjoy relaxing outside during our trips to Kauai and this house just didn’t provide this for us. It does need new sofas (they are the same ones from 2010 and are stained) but besides this it was clean, well maintained and nicely finished. 08/08/2015 at 9:27 PM

The Hanalei was totally equipped with everything we needed for our visit to Kauai. The house is amazing – much more spacious than the photos we saw on the website and perfect for 3 couples. Hanalei Bay is just two blocks away and, though the house is on the main road, it is set back by the driveway and plantings so we never heard traffic. It was a treat viewing the mountains every time we were at the sink or making coffee. It is a short walk to Hanalei town for coffee or daily groceries, if you prefer walking to driving the short half mile. The Na Pali coast and the best beaches in all the Hawaiian islands are short drives away. We highly recommend it and hope someday to be able to rent it again! 02/16/2015 at 6:58 PM

What a wonderful location for exploring Kauai. Minutes from the beach and a nice walk to town, less than ten minutes to shopping & dining. Kitchen had everything to make meals. The view from the kitchen window can not be beat. 06/30/2014 at 3:35 PM

Owners’ Directions made this easy to find when we drove in at night from the airport. The house was well located for a short walk to the beach and also to the end of 560. House was very clean and to Maintain with tile floors, spacious closets, laundry, nice patio, cooler and ice packs for day trips, kitchen nicely stocked, good screens and airflow, good showers. Wifi worked well (though area is not strong for AT&T service in winter, 2014–maybe this will improve.) 3/4 mike walk east of town. More children’s books and videos around the house than adult ones, but the book cart on front porch of Harvest Market saved the day! You Need a car to stay here. 03/02/2014 at 11:18 PM

We loved the house, the pictures really don’t do it justice. I was nervous about this place I thought it looked a little run down on the pictures. Turns out it is beautiful has everything we needed. My girls really loved the shower in the master bedroom. It is right on the hwy which I was surprised about. Luckily this didn’t affect our stay. It really is a pretty quite town and the house is off the road quite a bit. The dogs and Roosters are much noisier. The beach was great the views amazing. We would stay here again. 03/21/2014 at 10:28 PM
