The bay snuggles up to the Hanalei Mountains , which are clothed in lush vegetation laced with spectacular waterfalls. Hanalei Bay is known for its great surf in the winter: inspiring to watch, thrilling to ride. In the summer, the bay becomes a giant mirror of calm water - fun for swimming, paddling, and just floating on your back, dreaming, and looking at rainbows and waterfalls. The act of walking along the Bay at sunrise or sunset is both romantic and soul-nourishing.
